Running on a treadmill is a popular way to get in your cardio workout. A survey from the Sports & Fitness Industry Association found more than 50 million Americans said they used a treadmill at least once in the previous year.

Let’s face it – hitting the treadmill can feel like a chore. But there’s lots of other ways to get your cardio exercise. Try jumping on a trampoline instead. A study by the American Council on Exercise found that bouncing on a trampoline for less than 20 minutes is just as good for you as running. And it’s a lot more fun too!

Find out why jumping on a trampoline is a great way to get your cardio workout!

Outdoor Exercise

What’s better? Heading to a sweaty gym or exercising in the outdoors? With a trampoline you get a breath of fresh air while you exercise. Plus, the trampoline is always there right in your backyard – rain or shine!

Burn More Calories

You may be surprised to find out that trampoline jumping burns more calories than running. Victor L. Katch at the University of Michigan found that a 150 pound person burns 71 calories jogging and 82 calories on the trampoline.

Time Saver

While burning 10 calories more on a trampoline might not seem like much, consider that you need to spend less time on a trampoline than a treadmill to achieve that. A NASA study found that 10 minutes of jumping on a trampoline is the equivalent of a 30 minute run. The fact is exercising on a trampoline take less time than running.

Convenient For Busy Parents

Running around from work to school pick-ups to doctor’s appointments and finally making it home just in time for dinner and bedtime. Sound familiar? The trampoline is the perfect way to squeeze in some quick cardio. In just 10 minutes you’ll have your blood pumping and heart racing.

Protect Your Joints

“One downside of running is that it can lead to orthopedic injuries,” says John Porcari, Professor of exercise and sport science at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Running is a high-impact exercise that causes stress on your joints due to the force of impact. Your bouncy Springfree Trampoline mat acts as a great absorption pad. Taking all the force when you land, it prevents the jarring of ankles, knees and your spine.

Freedom From Boredom

Working out on a treadmill gets boring quickly. The scenery never changes and you’re doing the same thing day after day. Don’t even get us started on the annoying sounds of the machine. Jumping on a trampoline is a lot more fun! You get outside and there’s lots of moves you can do to switch up your workout. Check out these 10 quick and easy trampoline exercises.

Astronauts Do It!

A NASA study found that trampoline jumping is 68% more efficient than running or jogging. In fact, it proved to be the best exercise to rebuild the lost bone tissue of astronauts whose weightless state caused them to lose 15% of their bone mass.

Fun For The Whole Family

Turning exercise into quality, family time makes it more rewarding. A trampoline engages the entire family in jumping fun. Whether its kids cheering you on while you jump or challenging them to a jump-off, family time will make the workout a lot more fun!

Increasing your heart rate with 10 minutes of jumping a day will strengthen the muscles that are needed for a healthy cardiovascular system. If a happy heart isn’t a good reason to bounce, we don’t know what is!
